2005 Public Participation Award Winners

The Awards were based on the IAP2 Core Values for Public Participation and were awarded at the Asia-Pacific Conference dinner on Monday 7 March 2005.

The winners are listed next to the category for which they won their award.

Category 1: P2 enhanced decision-making – an award that relates to a decision that has clearly been influenced and improved through public participation. WINNER: Wivenhoe Alliance for the Wivenhoe Dam Upgrade.

Category 2: Robust P2 Process – an award that engages a broad range of stakeholders and equips them to participate. JOINT WINNER: Mirvav Fini Pty Ltd, Sarskissian Associates Planners Pty Ltd, Sustainable Consulting and Community Fair for the Kennedy Bay Community Engagement Process. JOINT WINNER: NSW Commission for Children and Young People for the Young People's Participation at the NSW Alcohol Summit 2003.

Category 3: Best P2 Policy Framework – for the organisation that can best demonstrate their ongoing commitment to P2 through organisational policy development and statement of values. WINNER: Local Government Association of Queensland.

The awards ceremony took place at the Asia-Pacific Conference dinner on Monday 7 March 2005.
