Delaney + Associates is pleased to now deliver both Foundations in Public Participation courses online.

Planning for Effective Public Participation is offered in two formats – 20 hours completed over five consecutive days (Express Academy) and 20 hours completed over two weeks, Monday - Thursday (Extended Academy).

Techniques for Public Participation is offered in the Express Academy format – 12 hours completed over four consecutive days, Monday – Thursday.

Upon completion of both modules, participants receive a certificate of completion from IAP2.

EXPRESS Academy: Planning for Effective Public Participation (20 hours completed over five consecutive days)

  • September 14 – 17
  • October 19 – 22
  • November 16 – 19

A major reason initiatives fail is inadequate preparation. In the Planning module, you will learn to evaluate the scope of a decision and identify the right processes and decision steps. You'll learn how to develop a comprehensive decision impact analysis and establish roles and responsibilities. You'll also learn how to develop a detailed public participation plan for the entire process.

This course is a pre-requisite for the subsequent module, Techniques for Effective Public Participation.

EXPRESS Academy: Techniques for Effective Public Participation (12 hours completed over four consecutive days, Monday – Thursday)

  • September 21 – 24
  • October 26 – 29
  • November 23 – 26

Once you have completed the planning course, you are ready to add 50+ practical tools and methodologies to your public participation toolkit-powerful techniques you can put to immediate use in your next project. This module breaks down specific methods including World Cafe, Interviews, Revolving Conversations, Deliberation, and Advisory Groups. You'll also learn how to establish and maintain effective communication throughout the process.

Completion of the full Foundations in Public Participation program is currently a pre-requisite for IAP2 Canada’s certification, Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3). To learn more about Jessica’s experience click here or click here to learn more about the CP3 program.
