IAP2 trainers Tanya Burdett and Barbara Chappell are pleased to present the IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation course at the Indonesia School of Government & Public Policy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

IAP2 Indonesia is providing public participation training in accordance with UNESCAP's Strategic Plan for the period 2018-2021. The purpose of this training is to promote the practice of public participation in Indonesia with with the following aims:

  • To increase the capacity of IAP2 members of Indonesia and the Indonesian public at large in relation to public participation practices; and
  • To encourage the acceleration of knowledge transformation on the fundamentals of public participation in Indonesia.

Regardless of the area where you are currently working. The IAP2 Foundations in Public Participation program can multiply your techniques and bring wider creativity to your approach. This program will give you a broad understanding of how public engagement works around the world. The hands-on design of the programme and the expertise of the IAP2 Federation Licensed Trainers ensure that you'll be receiving the best public participation and community engagement training available worldwide.

Tanya Burdett has over 22 years of experience in stakeholder engagement and consultation. Her engagement work ranges from consultation on master plans setting out future visions for small communities of a few thousand people, to engagement across country-wide programs and on major new project and policy initiatives such as the Ichthys LNG Project in the Northern Territory (Australia), Level Crossing Removal Project in Melbourne (Australia), High Speed Rail proposals (HS2, in the UK), and National Policy Statements and Eco-towns policy (UK).

 

Barbara Chappell is an experienced community engagement practitioner living and working in South Australia. She holds a Master's of Conflict Management and has a background in the development and implementation of community engagement framework models in local government. In 2008, she worked with the South Australia Local Government Association to research and develop a community engagement model for the local Councils in South Australia. Barbara is the recipient of two awards for her contributions to community engagement in South Australia.
