Enhance your skills in public engagement
Whether you are new to the field or a seasoned practitioner at any level of government, the private sector, or a not-for-profit organization, the experienced team at The Participation Company (TPC) will help you improve your public and stakeholder engagement programs with the IAP2 certified courses.

Foundations in Public Participation was designed with the input of successful practitioners who work with diverse populations and divergent circumstances throughout the world. A major reason initiatives fail is inadequate preparation. This coursework is divided into two modules, each focusing on one of the two major phases of public participation, planning and techniques. Upon completion of both modules, you will receive a certificate of completion from IAP2.

The Participation Company presents IAP2's Foundations in Public Participation Program:

Techniques for Effective Public Participation (2-Days):JANUARY 26-27, 2017

Early Bird Registration Deadline: December 16, 2016
Last Day to Register: January 11, 2017

The Participation Company offers discounts for active members of IAP2 USA, ICMA and NCDD. The discount is valid through our Early Bird Deadline.

Module I: 3-Day PLANNING for Effective Public Participation - Our planning module provides you with a proven structure that will greatly increase your odds of a successful project. This hands-on course gives you the opportunity to delve into your own challenges as you learn and review the essential elements of effective public participation planning. Once you have completed the planning course, you are ready to add 50+ practical tools and methodologies to your public participation toolkit.

The PLANNING module is a prerequisite for the subsequent module, TECHNIQUES for Effective Public Participation.

Module II: 2-Day TECHNIQUES for Effective Public Participation - Working experientially with seasoned IAP2 trainers and your peers, you will practice powerful techniques you can put to immediate use in your next project. This module breaks down specific methods including World Cafe’s, Interviews, Revolving Conversations, Deliberation, and Advisory Groups.

You’ll leave armed with a wealth of reference material. IAP2 tip sheets, and the ability to select appropriate procedures for each new project. You’ll also learn how to establish and maintain effective communication during the process.
